Session Descriptions

2-Hour Presentation

This training introduces school personnel to concepts related to childhood trauma, how it impacts development and how it might appear in the classroom. Participants will learn key strategies for supporting children exposed to potentially traumatic events in their home, schools or community. Participants will also learn how to identify when children need additional support and how to access trauma treatment services and resources.

3-Hour Presentation

This training includes the training above and allows for deeper exploration of key topics such as types of trauma, the impact of trauma on brain development, maintaining emotional safety during a crisis, and application of key concepts to real-life scenarios.
